Equipment Operator — Flax Harvest Season 2026

A Unique Opportunity

This season, PA Flax Project is hosting an expert fiber flax equipment trainer from Belgium with decades of hands-on experience in commercial fiber flax harvesting. Selected operators will receive direct, in-field instruction from an international specialist. A rare opportunity to build specialized skills in an emerging domestic industry. As PAFP grows, its infrastructure and farm network, operators who demonstrate skill, safety, and reliability will have opportunities to grow with us.

Position Summary

We are seeking dependable and experienced Equipment Operators to support harvest operations across multiple farm sites in the summer of 2026. This role requires someone who is safety-conscious, physically capable, and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions alongside an experienced international team.

  • Position Type: Seasonal Contract

    Duration: ASAP – Aug 10th, 2026

    Pay: $30/hour + mileage reimbursement

    Location: Multiple farm sites (Montgomery, Chester, and Lancaster Counties in Pennsylvania)

    • Participate in hands-on training led by an international flax harvesting expert

    • Operate the Depoortere Flax Puller, Turner, and other farm equipment

    • Assist with crop assessment and full harvest operations

    • Follow all safety protocols as defined by PA Flax Project — safety is non-negotiable on our sites

    • Prior experience operating harvest or heavy agricultural equipment required — at least one full season preferred

    • Tractor safety certificate or equivalent training is strongly preferred

    • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

    • Reliable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious

    • Access to reliable transportation to farm sites across Montgomery, Chester, and Lancaster Counties
