Education
Our educational offerings connect participants to the cycles of nature and create a space for learning about the many uses of fiber flax.
Flax is one powerful part of the solution to the myriad of problems created in the textiles sector, plastics industry and industrial building trades.
Through a variety of events, we explore our regional cultural history with fiber flax and discover where it belongs in our present day culture.
The Square Yard Project is an inclusive community art and education project designed around growing and processing flax for linen. We are proud to be part of a global movement to revitalize the flax-to-linen industry that includes many square yard & square meter projects, creating space for and in the public for learning about fiber flax.
We welcome historic spaces, schools, public gardens, farms and other community organizations to partner with us and tell the story of fiber flax in our region’s past, present and future. Grow a square yard project at your location, spread the word and we will support you in offering events around this crop. Partner with us to re-imagine a sustainable fiber future.
